ABOUT THE BAND
Monmouth Big Band is perfect for weddings, dances, festivals, and concerts for community or corporate events. The sound is lively, upbeat and swinging. Big band repertoire spreads back nearly a hundred years, with so much variety of style and feel – all of it sizzling with that quintessential vibrant sound.
Our repertoire of around 200 tunes gives us the flexibility to select the right playlist for your event. In addition to scorching swing numbers, we play smooth Latin, ‘strictly’- style dance tunes, well-known vocal numbers and classic jazz. The music cascades off the stage with all the vibrancy you’d expect from a 16-piece live band.
Mike Prestage
Musical Director
Our musical director is Mike Prestage. Mike is a well-loved jazz trumpet player in his native Herefordshire. Described by the Jazz Mann as "an exciting new discovery and impressively fine player", Mike is currently developing his trumpet performance presence nationally alongside his music education career.
